My 2024 Vision Board

HAPPY NEW YEARS BEHOLDERS! I hope you all had a wonderful NYE celebration and were surrounded by loved ones. I personally spent my New Year’s Eve driving home from the airport and then snuggling in bed with my doggy (the best New Year’s kiss I could’ve asked for). In honor of the new year, I’ve put together a vision board to manifest and conjure up an image of what I hope my 2024 will look like. I created my vision board on my favorite social media platform, Pinterest. It is linked here for you all to see. I recommend you take a look through my vision board, get all inspired, and then come back here and read through my explanation of what I envision for this wonderful year that we are all about to have.

Good grades

Repeat after me, “I AM AN ACADEMIC WEAPON!” I’m entering school with the mindset that I love to enhance my life through the wonderful education that I am so extremely thankful that I get to receive. Learning is fun and it makes me feel accomplished when I get a good grade. I am going to give school so much energy not because of societal pressure to get the best grades, but because I love to learn.

Outside of school, I’m excited to get back into work at the Rec Center at UCSD! Also, of course I’m excited to continue working on my blog. I’m manifesting growth but also so happy keeping this as my own little personal project with low stakes. I’m just happy that I get to write to my loved ones and keep you all updated on my life and my thoughts.

Guitar

As I mentioned in my “A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish” post, I’m working on learning the guitar. Hopefully, by the end of the year, I’ll be skilled enough to jam out with my dad and brother.

Skateboarding

Another hobby that I hope to expand on is skateboarding. I started a little bit in high school but never brought my skateboard to college. Because of the location of my new house in San Diego, I’m hoping to skateboard to school and then also just learn some fun tricks.

Flowers

Recently I discovered how much beauty I see in flowers. Of course, I always thought they were pretty. But now I constantly want to be surrounded by flowers. I’m hoping to add some beauty to my house in San Diego by having flowers (and learning to take care of them properly).

More travel

Now that I’ve been exposed to the amazing world of traveling, I don’t think I can stay in one place too long. I’ll always be hunting and planning for that next adventure. Hopefully, my trip-planning posts will be coming in handy in 2024!

Books

I love reading and try to read as much as my already busy life lets me. I’m hoping that in 2024 I’ll keep up with this amazing hobby and be exposed to some books that help me grow as a person. I’m always looking for book recommendations so comment or send me a message if you have any!

DINNER PARTIES

It is such a goal of mine to host some beautiful (stocked with flowers) and tasty dinner parties. I love a good wholesome vibe with my friends so I’m excited to get into this.

Cooking

Piggybacking off of that, I’m also excited to become a better cook and push myself in the kitchen. In Barcelona, I became much better at cooking. But in San Diego, I hope to learn even more and hopefully meal prep during the week. It’s more cost-efficient and healthier!

You’ll also randomly notice photos of cakes on my vision board. I’m not necessarily interested in baking cakes, but I find them so pretty and hope that I am surrounded by pretty cakes in 2024.

Fitness

La Jolla Half Marathon 2024 here I come! In 2023 I got into running and ran my first half marathon! However, it was a trail marathon and I actually hated it. But I’m excited to do another half, this one on the street and alongside my best friends.

I also hope to keep up with my smaller hobbies of tennis and surfing. Hopefully, I’ll get out at least once a week to do those things.

More Beach Time

In the past, I didn’t advantage of how close I am to the beach at school enough. I want to go to the beach more to surf, tan, picnic, journal, read, you name it. No matter what I’m doing, I should be sitting on the sand watching the waves crash.

The Three F’s: Fun, Fashion, and Friendship

Two days before the New Year, I turned 21. This is the year for me to have fun, not take things too seriously, and focus on my friends. As long as I am surrounded by people that I love and who love me, I have it all. There are a lot of photos on my vision board that just remind me of the silly little moments that I have with my friends. I’m manifesting more moments like those and only the best people by my side this year.

I’m also slightly saying here that I’m not giving any energy to people who don’t put the same amount of energy into our relationship as I do. I’m focusing on the “I don’t chase I attract” mindset.

Aside from friends, I’m excited about more concerts (COACHELLA!!), exploring downtown San Diego and Pacific Beach, going to more flea markets, and really just getting out there and making the most of every day.

Lastly, I included photos of some outfits that have inspired my style and I hope to keep figuring out what I like in fashion in 2024. Some of these photos also just give off the vibe that I’m going for.

Quotes

By the end of 2023, I learned how easy it is to fake it till you make it. In Barcelona, my roommate Alexa would add “…but it’s okay” to the end of many sentences and I adopted this habit. I have to say, it has changed my life for the better. I recommend everyone give this a try because it’s a life hack.

Another example of faking it till you make it is something I learned from a friend that I met in Saint Lucia. Exclaiming “This is the best day ever!” whenever something minorly good happens or you’re excited about something coming up makes it feel like you’re going to have the best day ever. These little things might seem silly, but I know they’ve helped me be a much more optimistic person.

My last favorite quote that I put on my vision board is “Protecting my peace.” To me, this means that it’s okay to disagree with someone and move on, or have someone be mean to you and simply not give them any energy signifying that they get to you. To each their own. Some people suck and still have a lot to learn in life and that’s okay.

Aside from these quotes, I included some that manifest health, wealth, good grades, confidence, and an overall happy life.

Dachshunds

There are also a good amount of weenie dogs on my vision board because they’re my favorite dogs in the world. Although I will most likely not be adopting one in 2024, I hope I see a lot on the street and visit my grandpa’s little Otto.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what I hope my year looks like! I’m optimistic that it’s going to be a great year and I wish only the best for you all.

Sending virtual hugs and high-fives,

Chlo

On the book note, I just read “Boy Swallows Universe” on the last two days of 2023 and I can say it was the best book I read last year.
